Methodology

Annual EV fuel cost = (km × Wh/km / 1000) × ₹/kWh. Annual ICE fuel cost = (km / mileage) × ₹/L. Annual maintenance savings from average EV ₹1–5/km vs ICE ₹1.5–5.5/km data. Break-even = net EV price premium / total annual savings. CO₂ avoided uses India grid intensity of 710 gCO₂/kWh (CEA 2023) vs IPCC Tier 1 emission factors per fuel type.
